While using the term ‘Photoshop’ as a verb goes against Adobe’s trademark guidelines (pdf), it has become a term in the common vernacular. Adobe hopes to avoid becoming the next Kleenex or Xerox but “photoshopping an image” is so prevalent, so they have to defend it.
