Major internet retailer Amazon has made it to show with more options and competitive prices. Not everyone has a credit card or debit card or feels comfortable linking it to their account. Amazon’s new feature should solve that problem.
Amazon Cash allows you to visit select retailers and deposit money to your Amazon balance for no fee. You pay them cash and they credit your account. To tie it to your account, you just bring a barcode for them to scan as a print-out or a text message.
The current participating retailers include:
- CVS Pharmacy
- Speedway
- Kum & Go
- D&W Fresh Market
- Sheetz
- Family Fare Supermarkets
- VG’s Grocery
More retailers are “coming soon” according to the Amazon Cash page.
You can add between $15 and $500 in a single transaction. The balance is similar to adding a gift card balance to your account. Funds are available immediately following the deposit. You can use your funds to make purchases on Amazon but the deposits are non-refundable; you cannot withdraw to cash.
