MacBook Pro
At Apple’s event today, a new MacBook Pro was introduced. It is “revolutionary” and the thinnest and lightest MBP yet. Touch ID is integrated into the power button. The display is given a brightness boost. Oddly, they’re using a 6th generation Intel processor rather than the 7th generation Kaby Lake CPU. Other features include a larger Force Touch trackpad, a responsive keyboard, and louder speakers. Another drawback for the new laptop is that it removes all of its ports (USB, HDMI, power, SD card, Thunderbolt) in place of four USB-C type Thunderbolt ports and a headphone jack.
The biggest new feature is the Touch Bar, which replaces the row of function keys with a touch display that adapts to the active app you’re using or as notifications pop-up. Microsoft has announced that Office for Mac has added Touch Bar support. Other developers can use this feature with the NSTouchBar object in AppKit.
