The first day of Microsoft’s Ignite conference in Atlanta included a number of announcements in regards to Windows Server 2016, System Center 2016, Office 365, Windows 10, and other Microsoft products. The conference continues throughout the week, so there may be more to come but this compiles most of the announcements in one place. You can watch the recorded events or review the upcoming agenda at ignite.microsoft.com which includes an opening keynote with executive vice president Scott Guthrie, segments for the various Microsoft products, and a closing keynote with CEO Satya Nadella.
My favorite news from the day was, of course, the announcement of Windows Server 2016 and System Center 2016 general availability in mid-October, Delve Analytics, and the Outlook for Android app being re-architected to not use third party servers. The collection of Microsoft’s announcements are below:
New Windows 10 and Office 365 features for the secure productive enterprise
Outlook for iOS and Android is now fully powered by the Microsoft Cloud
Office platform news at Ignite 2016
Office 365 news in September at Ignite—intelligence, security and collaboration
