Microsoft released Windows Server 2016 Technical Preview 5. This is assumedly the last technical preview release before RTM and general availability in Q3 2016.
The best resource on the new features in this latest build is a TechNet article What’s New in Windows Server 2016 Technical Preview 5. It goes through the new features in Server 2016 and was updated yesterday with highlights for the Technical Preview 5 release. These changes include:
- Greater time accuracy in physical and virtual machines
- Windows Containers with Docker
- Updated module for building Nano Server images
- Using Azure SQL DB as your Remote Desktop Connection Broker
- Run PowerShell.exe locally on Nano Server
- New Local Users and Groups cmdlets in PowerShell
- Improvements to networking such as software-defined networking
- Just Enough Administration for running under a network identity
- Shielded virtual machines
- Enhancements to storage such as Storage Spaces Direct and load balancing virtual machines
