Ryobi has made a tech-friendly garage door opener with their GD200 Ultra-quiet garage door opener. How many technology features do you need from your garage door opener? Well, this one took everything I could think of and more while leaving the door open, pun intended, for the future with its modular design.
The GD200 uses a belt to open the garage door, which makes it significantly quieter than chain or screw garage door openers. The belt is steel reinforced and both the belt and 2HP motor are covered by the Ryobi lifetime warranty. You can plug in a separate Ryobi battery to the opener and it will keep it charged and use it to operate in a power outage. To make that electricity usage efficient, it uses motion-sensing LEDs to illuminate your space.
On to the digital technology of the opener, it offers Wi-Fi and homelink so you can monitor and activate the opener from an iOS or Android app. The modules, which are sold separately, include a retractable power cord, a fan, parking assist lasers, a carbon monoxide alarm, and a Bluetooth speaker.
The Ryobi ultra-quiet garage door opener is available only from Home Depot and is priced $248.00 at publishing. The modules are also available at $44 to $64.
