I received my Nexus 6P a week or two after the beautiful Fall colors disappeared and gave way to the drap leaf-less trees. Despite the missed opportunity, I still took the smartphone’s camera for a test drive and shot a few pictures and a video.
The video is a simple walking tour in the evening with lights.
A still of the same angle turned out well.
Zooming in on the glasses and the case that were discussed in the recent Gauss article.
It wouldn’t be a real test without some food pictures to post to Instagram.
This tree is still holding strong to its leaves. This picture was shot with HDR shut off.
This picture was shot with HDR+. You can see the truer colors and better definition at the individual leaf level.
A deer was spotted at dusk. The picture was a little grainy but still visible after a digital zoom in onto the buck.
There was more than one deer. (Zoomed out fully.)
For one thing, the camera improves the definition of dark colors in low light situations. My dog often ends up a black puddle or blur in previous pictures. Now, her color has a bit more definition but she is still fast enough to cause a blur on the camera, such as with her tongue.
