Narcissistic personality disorder involves a preoccupation with self and how one is perceived by others. It wasn’t that long ago that front-facing cameras were a rare feature on smartphones and now they’re standard. Is it truly the selfie to blame or has this been going on since early forums and instant messaging days? The effect has reached the masses and is available everywhere with today’s technology. Social media and our devices that keep us constantly connected are driving us toward vanity and self-promotion.
