As their core products reach small profit margins, these companies are separating to allow their enterprising potential grow. Symantec split into Symantec and Veritas, PayPal and eBay split up, and effective today, HP has split into two companies.
Announcing the change last year and receiving SEC approval last month, the split into Hewlett Packard Enterprise and HP Inc. takes effect today, November 1st, 2015.
HP Inc. retains the computer, server, printer, and other hardware manufacturing and sales. Hewlett Packard Enterprise will provide enterprise services to organizations.
