NVIDIA’s Android TV SHIELD console is now available. The SHIELD is not to be confused with the SHIELD Tablet or Portable that NVIDIA has previously released. The console allows 4K streaming, built on Android TV, and was announced in March at NVIDIA’s ‘Made to Game’ event.

The SHIELD enables Netflix 4K Ultra HD, Sling TV, and Android TV apps. Of course, NVIDIA also puts plenty of emphasis on the games with Android TV games and their GRID game-streaming service.
NVIDIA is also offering a deal for purchases before August 19th to receive Google Play credit and 3 months of Google Play music unlimited while the SHIELD Pro includes those perks and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel.
Both versions of the console support 4K, include an HDMI cable, allow for voice search, receive updates over-the-air, have MicroSD expansion, have USB 3.0 ports, gigabit Ethernet, and 802.11ac. The main difference between the SHIELD and the SHIELD Pro comes down to the storage, 16GB and 500GB, respectively, and the Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel limited time offer.
