Amazon’s Fire Phone uses Fire OS, Amazon’s fork of Android, and is exclusive to AT&T. The phone will ship on July 25th, but you can pre-order now.
Fire Phone is a 5.5″ tall phone with a 4.7″ display at 1280×720 resolution with a 2.2GHz quad-core processor and 2GB of RAM. The rear camera is 13 MP with a 2.1 MP front-facing camera. Storage comes in 32GB or 64GB options with free cloud storage on Amazon’s services. Buying the phone also comes with a year of Amazon Prime service.
Many of Amazon’s features from the Kindle Fire tablets are on the phone, and are joined by a few others:
- Mayday – live, on-device video support
- Dynamic perspective – a sensor system that allows you to navigate the phone with tilts, swivels, and peeks
- Firefly – Shazam for music and movies and Google Goggles for ads and products
- Image stabilization – The 13MP camera has optical image stabilization and can record 1080p video at 30fps
- Amazon Appstore – Includes Amazon’s built-in apps
- Dolby Digital Plus – paired with premium earbuds iwth a tangle-free flat cable
- Amazon Prime – Prime Instant Video, Prime Music, Kindle Owners’ Lending Library, one year of Prime included
- Kindle features – X-Ray, Second Screen, Immersion Reading, ASAP, Whispersync, and Silk Browser

The 32GB Fire Phone is available for $649 without a contract or $199 with a two year plan. The 64GB version costs $100 more.
