Last month we previewed the Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 2.0 Beta and today the final version launched.
Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 2.0 includes a rewrite of the program and a redesign of the interface. In a perfect world, I like the new interface design. Unfortunately, in our imperfect world, I still think it looks a bit like a fake antivirus program.
Version 2.0 includes the anti-rootkit and chameleon functionality to give MBAM the upper-hand in the fight against malware again. With this new version, Malwarebytes is also changing to a premium subscription. They still offer a free version that performs on-demand scans. You can buy a premium subscription for $24.95/year valid that provides real-time protection and other features for 3 PCs.
Version 1.0 Pro licenses are being grandfathered in and are still being honored as lifetime licenses. To help with the transition, Malwarebytes is offering 5000 licenses on a first-come, first-served basis at www.malwarebytes.org/eureka/
