Every 6 weeks there is a new version of Firefox. Mozilla was able to ship Firefox 10 on schedule with its latest updates today. The big changes in this version include:
- The forward button is now hidden until you navigate back
- Most add-ons are now compatible with new versions of Firefox by default
- Anti-Aliasing for WebGL is now implemented
- CSS3 3D-Transforms are now supported
- New HTML5 <BDI> element
- Full screen APIS for HTML5 web applications running full screen
- Resolved various crashes
For the full list of changes, check the bug list. You can download Firefox 10.0 from Mozilla’s website.
Along with the updates in version 10, it also includes the first version of the Extended Support Release channel. You can find this in the Firefox for Organizations channel. With the ESR, version 10 will be upgraded through version 10.0.8 while the main channel rockets past to version 17. Organizations will have 42 weeks (to 54 weeks) of stability instead of just 6.
