In the Sports and Leisure section of Amazon.co.uk, its Movers and Shakers in sales are showing a certain trend. It’s hard to tell if people are arming themselves for the riots or preparing to defend themselves. “Movers and Shakers identifies the biggest gainers in sales rank compared to twenty-four hours previously.” Batons, baseball bats, and keyring batons are climbing the charts up to a 48,621% increase in sales. In fact, various baseball bats currently hold 11 of the top 20 spots.
While sales might be increasing for certain items for online store, brick-and-mortar stores are on the opposite end with rampant looting through the night and large fires. The Apple Store in Liverpool has cleared their inventory from their store to deter looters.
