Adobe Releases Quarterly Updates for Flash Player, Shockwave, LiveCycle, ColdFusion, Acrobat, and Reader

Adobe just flooded the Internet with patches for some of their top products:

This bring Acrobat and Reader up to versions 10.1 and introduces the “Protected Mode” that Reader X has been using to Acrobat X. The Protected Mode allowed Adobe Reader to skip a few updates until the quarterly update despite multiple PDF and Flash vulnerabilities out there in the past few months. The Adobe Security team details Acrobat’s Protected Mode in a blog post today. In addition, Brad Arkin highlights Acrobat Protected View along with changes to Adobe Reader Automatic Update options, Linux updates changing to every other quarter, and clarification of the Reader and Acrobat quarterly update cycle in an ASSET blog post today.

You can download the updates from the Adobe FTP:

Adobe Flash Player is now brought up to version 10.3.181.26 and corrects a critical vulnerability in the previous version. It can be downloaded without Adobe’s annoying add-ons from the links on this previous 404 Tech Support article.

Adobe Shockwave Player’s latest version is 11.6.0.626.

Joining today’s flood of updates from Adobe, Microsoft released 34 updates this Patch Tuesday including those that address critical IE9 and Windows bugs.

Happy patching!
