The announcement of its early release was made on the Mozilla security blog as well as through the Mozilla Developer Center.
You can read more about version 3.6.2 from its release notes. Amongst many others, changes in Firefox 3.6.2 include:
- Fixed a critical security issue that could potentially allow remote code execution (see bug 552216).
- Fixed several additional security issues.
- Fixed several stability issues.
As a result of the critical nature of these bugs, it is highly encouraged that all Firefox users update their browser as soon as possible. You can get version 3.6.2 by downloading it from Mozilla’s site or if you already have it installed, go to the Help menu, and click ‘Check for updates…’. You may have to run the Update checker more than once if you are a few versions behind.
