Windows 10 v1607 bring a new look to the User Account Control window. The prompt originated with Windows Vista and triggers whenever elevated access is needed such as writing to certain system directories or launching programs that modify system files or registry entries.
The new UAC prompt adopts the flat look and feel of the Universal Windows Platform. Here’s what the new prompt looks like by default if you are an admin:
Clicking the ‘Show more details’ will show you the Program location and provide a link to view the certificate of the program publisher.
If you are not an administrator, the new prompt will include a spot for the user name and password of an admin account to allow you to elevate with a different account.
